Facing the Uruguayan shore of Salto Grande lake, a new town built in 1979 and the first hot springs in Entre Ríos.

Across Salto Grande lake, in the Argentine province of Entre Ríos, Federación has a unique story: the dam's reservoir flooded the old town, and today's town was inaugurated on 25 March 1979, a few kilometres uphill.
The hot springs
Years later, drilling struck hot water from the Guaraní Aquifer. The Federación thermal complex, opened in 1997, was the first in the province and gave the town a new life as a place to relax.
More to do
- Walk the waterfront facing the lake.
- See the remains of the old town when the water level drops.
Getting there from Uruguay
From Salto, cross into Argentina over the bridge on the Salto Grande dam towards Concordia, then head north along the lake.
Tips
- Bring your ID for the border crossing.
- Check the thermal park's hours and prices.
